Battling the Bulge
Even though the thought of losing weight may be far from your mind until after New Year’s, it is never too early to get started on your weight loss regimen. The easiest way to start the process is by consuming more water. Besides make sure your body is hydrated so it can burn calories, we often mistake thirst for hunger. Buy a large water bottle that you can keep at your desk at work, in your car, or on the table in your living room that you can continuously refill and sip on throughout the day.
Be sure to incorporate more exercise into your day- take the stairs when you can, park further away. Whether you get on the treadmill before heading to work, go walking during your lunch break, hit the gym after work or take the whole family for a walk after dinner, exercising is essential.
What you eat and how much you eat is also important. Fill up on fruits, vegetables, lean meats and whole grains and avoid junk food to keep calories to a minimum. Having enough fiber and protein at each meal will help to keep you full. If you need a snack, make it a healthy one.
Supplements may also be beneficial in promoting weight loss, reducing your appetite, increasing energy and metabolism and also helping to burn fat.
